In 2018, 51 students and a group of chaperones traveled to San Felipe Abajo in the Dominican Republic to take part in the Belen Youth Missions.
From June 29 to July 8, the missionaries built a bridge to help five communities comprised of over 180 families. The bridge measures 100 feet long x 12 feet wide and has six columns. BYM last visited this town in 2012 to build a bridge, but after several storms and a shift in the river, it is necessary to rebuild. The new bridge was built in a more strategic location, which will be more useful during the rainy season.
