The quote by St. Ignatius of Loyola, “Go forth and set the world on fire” can best describe the group of individuals that decided to use their summer vacation to accomplish an incredible feat.

For over twenty five years, Belen students have participated in missionary activity in greatly impoverished areas of the Dominican Republic. In connection with other Jesuit priests of our Province (Antilles) who are serving in the Dominican Republic, we have engaged our students in service aimed at benefiting rural communities of different areas of that country. Our students share life, faith and work with campesino communities who become our teachers in the faith, as well as friends in Christ.

Fifty Belen Jesuit students will travel to the Dominican Republic June 29 - July 8, 2018 to build a bridge for the community of San Felipe Abajo. The group will also establish a clinic and deliver necessary supplies. Father Willie, Science Teacher Gehovanny Perez, BYM Coordinator Mirna Menendez and a few alumni will attend the trip.
