Our Goal
Belen Youth Missions
For over 40 years, Belen students have participated in missionary work in the most impoverished areas of the Dominican Republic. In collaboration with other Jesuit priests of the Caribbean Province serving in the Dominican Republic, we have engaged our students in service to benefit rural communities across the country.
Our students share life, faith, and work with campesino communities who become our teachers in the faith and, as well, friends in Christ.
Together with local people, our students have participated in the construction of small schools, chapels, aqueducts, and bridges. In addition, we have set up medical missions to these places with the help of Belen's parents and alumni, who are physicians or nurses.
In 2026, the group will build an aqueduct in a village in the Dominican Republic. The group of over sixty from Belen, including chaperones, will work diligently to lay down several miles of pipe. Details will be posted at a later time. The mission trip will be from June 26 through July 5.
