Today is the day !
“Some give by going; Some go by giving”
- St. Therese of Lisieux, Patroness of Missions

The quote by St. Ignatius of Loyola, “Go forth and set the world on fire” can best describe the group of individuals that decided to use their summer vacation to accomplish an incredible feat.

For over twenty five years, Belen students have participated in missionary activity in greatly impoverished areas of the Dominican Republic. In connection with other Jesuit priests of our Province (Antilles) who are serving in the Dominican Republic, we have engaged our students in service aimed at benefiting rural communities of different areas of that country. Our students share life, faith and work with campesino communities who become our teachers in the faith, as well as friends in Christ.

Sixty-five students from Belen Jesuit will travel to La Estancita in the Dominican Republic June 24 - July 2, 2017 to build a bridge for 5 communities. The bridge will help over 130 families in the area. The Belen Youth Missions group will travel with Father Willie, Mr. Gehovanny Perez, and alumni to build the 100 feet long, 12 feet wide bridge over the Yujo River.
